Directory Synchronization, or DirSync, is a feature that enables syncing of profile information from an external directory onto Hypercare. This includes new account creation, addition and removal from an organization on Hypercare, and syncing and updating user profile information that does not exist on Hypercare.
Can information that is added and updated in Hypercare sync back into the source directory?
Information added and updated in Hypercare does not sync back into the source directory. The syncing is unidirectional, meaning it is only processed from the external directory onto Hypercare, not the other way around.
What are the benefits of using directory synchronization (DirSync)?
The benefits of using DirSync include but are not limited to:
- Streamlined Account Management: DirSync automates the process of account creation and removal, ensuring that user accounts in Hypercare are always up-to-date with the organization's external directory.
- Consistency of Information: DirSync ensures that the user profile information is consistent across the external directory and Hypercare.
- Improved User Experience: With accurate syncing and minimum customer support required, users can seamlessly use the DirSync feature for profile information.
